estimating size of red and white blood cells (1 Viewer)

can someone please help me with the method for this prac. i don't get it

1- Set the telescope to 10x objective
2- Place the grid under the telescope
3- Estimate the field of view.
4- Turn/Change to 40x objective.
5- Divide your FOV by 4 as you have changed your objective by a multiple of 4. That is, if your FOV was 1640um then the FOV should be 410. (1600 or 1640 are the numbers i use as it makes calculations easy and thats approximately the FOV under light telescope.
6- Then place the slide with the blood smear under the telescope and could across the diameter.
7- You then get your FOV size for 400x magnification and then divide it by the number of RBC across diameter.
8- Repeat for WBC
