I did as well. You can see my working out on the other thread with the appropriate title.

Personally, I thought this exam was harder than the 2010, which followed my expectations. It was shockingly easy until question 8, at which the difficulty spiked in question 9. I found question 10 rather easy though.
My thoughts exactly. For 1-8 i killed it and 10 as well. I just hope that 9 and any silly mistakes that may have happened earlier don't let me down too much.

Much much easier than the past papers! Argh, made a silly mistake in the last part of Question 9... I wrote as working for the sum: S=-1+10 and then my following line was 11 instead of 9. CAN'T BELIEVE I DID THAT. :/ Realised when my paper was collected. Anyone remember how many marks it was worth and do you think they'll take the mark/s away from me? :(
Worth 2 marks.

You'll lose 1 mark.

I missed 10 b) iv) and v) because it was hard. TBH, I guessed part 3 but apparently it's right. r= P/4 ?

for 9 c) graphic, I think I'll lose 1 mark because I made the graph go above the x axis at the end....

9 b) ii) I failed. I don't know if I did i) right.

8 c) ii 2) was wtf.......... ??? did anyone get $1451 or something

How do you do the locus question and the sum question at the end of q9

Locus:

You get the distance formula and square each of the to remove the root sign.

Then you clean the equation up and complete the square for x.

Then you'll be left with (x-1)^2 + y^2 = 16

Centre (1,0) radius = root 16 = 4

.

Sum question:

You solve the first part, then you realise that the pattern in the second question is exactly the same as the first part. You just replace it la then get 9 as your answer.
