from chapter 5 of the design and technology excel book it says:
On completing this chapter, students should be able to:
- Critically analuse the factors affecting design and the development and success of design projects
Chapter Overview:
There are millions of designs around the worls that have the potential to be tremendously successful but, for varying reasons, many are not commrecially produced. Success or failure is not always a reflection of how well a design works or the benefits it will give to humanity. Many factors influence the success of a design
the chapter then goes on to outline the background of design success and failure, and then gives several examples of both designs that have succeeded, and those that have failed. for each of these it also says what made it so successful, or what made it a failure
i would be presuming that that is what the syllabus is asking for
