Hey yall,
I'm going to usyd next year and i'm trying to choose a major.
In the Dalyell scholar section, you are able to choose between a major or an honours subject area.
Can someone explain the difference to me please?
How does an honours (a 1 year program) fit into the typical 4 year bachelor course?
If you have done the course, tell me how you find it.

Are you doing advanced studies? If so, and you wish to do an honours, then the fourth year of your degree will become your honours year.

I'm not really sure what the interface looks like for you, but generally, your honours subject area is a subset of your majors. If the interface doesn't allow you to select the same area for both, it could be that the "honours subject area" input is an additional major.

Either way, it's no big deal. You can always change those later down the line. You can try asking student centre, if you like.
