I'm going there in Feb 09 to study Electrical Engineering, but I don't have a good idea on the university's reputation, prestige and social life. Any ideas? Thanks.

Deakin university is higly commended and sucessful. I don't go there, but know people who do.

Deakin Melbourne is HUGE. I mean... H... U... G... E...!!! Try, uh... four to six city blocks and about three sets of office buildings...

Well, it has a really, reallyy good reputation and a nice campus.

I know somebody who is studying engineering at Deakin. It comes across as a well prepared, well organised course, taught very well.

Deakin offers a lot of clubs, social activities and some great bars. To get the info on what's on offer just go to DUSA . This is the student association and details what's on offer. They're always on the look out for student reps too if you're interested!
