hey guys and girls could someone tell me what they think of this deal and is it worth it? i know alot of people say compaq arent really that good:

as I always say in every laptop thread, don't get a Compaq

but i would really appreciate an opinion on this particular model the price is $1278

yeah i only wanted it for uni just typing up stuff and using it for the net, is it just me or this thing does not come with a burner?

i'd say yes.
but maybe you'd want to double check that before you'd buy. as well as find the speeds.

nah it is just for me at home

If it is just for home, why not get a Desktop computer instead? It would be cheaper and you would get a better computer.

Of the Compaqs I have seen and used (especially the Presario range), they get very hot, are of a poor build, not very durable, and poor customer support.
