Human rights questions:
  • How have other nations responded to the challenges of human rights?
  • What are some strategies to address human rights challenges?

1:
*The creation of the territory of Nunavaut in norther Canada as home of the Inuit
*Maori land rights in New Zealand

-The difference with the Australian experience was that no formal treaties occured in Australia where as above they had the 'Treaty of Waitangi' in NZ and the 'Nunavut Land Claim Agreement' in Canada

2:

*The role of the Govt in addressing problems of human rights and reconciliation
*The work of Amnesty International and the UN as well as other NGO's working in the humanitarian field
* Govt responses to Human Rights abuse: Addressing issues of poverty and racial discrimination
*Refugee issues in Aus: Asylum seekers held in detention
* Govt responses to reconciliation - Native Title legislation and ANTaR (Australians for Native Title and Reconciliation)
* Dealing with issues such as black deaths in custody, drug abuse and alcoholism in Indigenous communities
* The importance of self help
- Restriction to alcohol in Indigenous communities
- Job opportunities in "
- Encouraging Aboriginal people to develop and run their own business ventures

This is strange because at times I swear your using the same book material I am, and then at other times you dont know the answers provided in the above assumption. So yeh, its very amusing - but they are only the notes listed in the end of that part of the chapter. I hope they were helpful in any case.

I actually need a little on this myself.

For the first one though we compared the Navajo native Americans to Indigenous Australians for things such as life expectancy, education rates, jail over-representation etc. then looked at why they were better off.

You should also look at how other countries deal with refugees, something which I unfortunately didn't do. Mentioned Sweden, so I might look that up.
