It seems there are contrasting ideas within Yeats's poetry. What is meant by contrast in this question is that there might be conflicting/differing themes/ideas/issues raised within Yeats's poetry that allow him to explore possible personal and political concerns. You may be able to highlight contrast within Yeats's poetry using one, a combination of, or all of the following techniques, which imply contrast:
- Juxtaposition: Placing two things side-by-side to reveal a contrast.
- Oxymoron: Two contradictory words are written or said side-by-side.
- Paradox: A statement that contradicts itself.
- Antithesis: Two oppositional ideas or concepts that are put together.
