Try 'howstuffworks.com' it's not really a search engine but it has heaps of info on computer, science, health and other stuff

Google has over 8 billion pages indexed...if that doesn't have what you need, then I don't know what would.
Google just indexes whatever pages are accessible - even the Member Profiles for BOS can be found by typing in your username.
You don't really need any other search engines...
