hello hello

just wondering if anyone can help me out with my isp.

I'm in the process of reading Mein Kampf and doing research on hitler and religion and i'm trying to finalise my isp topic. I am trying to do something around Hitler's influence on religion or a biography on him because contrary to what many people might believe, Hitler was Roman Catholic and constantly said he was doing 'the work of God'.

Can anyone give me some ideas so that i might be able to pin- point my research cuz there's a lot on info out there.

Btw, can someone plz tell me why one instance of doing the 'work of God' is to free the world of Jews, when Jesus was a Jew.

Thanks for that

Peace Love n Mungbeans

If it were me, I would avoid this topic like the plague.......too hard and too "controversal".

I know it doesnt fits into religion/non-religion (as per your post topic) and I think you would be really stretching it to fit into biography:

Students learn about:

(A) the actions of one famous historical or contemporary individual of faith and principle

critical issues that shaped the actions of the individual

motivating forces that shaped the actions of the individual

(B) the influence of one famous historical or contemporary individual of faith and principle

the social context of their influence

the cultural context of their influence

the nature and extent of their influence

(C) responses to the individual

the responses made by their religious institutions

the responses made by social institutions.

It doesnt fit into a or b because of "the person of faith and principle" bit (you yourself answered this one)
as for c, he didnt belong to a religious institution as such.
Maybe social institutions???
ie the noticeable lack of "criticism" from the Vatican of the time (as an idea.........)
As to your second question, most, if not all Christians at the time believed that the Jews killed Jesus (hence a good excuse for the Holocaust!). Many looneys throughtout history used this line of logic to persecute the Jews........ twisted history and beliefs systems at work here! ie i think he was just using religion as an excuse to justify his actions.

Hope this helps

Hey snapperhead, thanks for the help.
I know it's a bit controversial, especially because i'm school captain at a Catholic school but i'm just wondering if this idea would be completely wrong for A or B...

The outcome mentions only faith and principle, as opposed to what we, as Catholics in 2004 regard as faith and principle.

What i mean is, am i at all able to do the topic from Hitler's perspective i.e what he perceived as faith and principle, which consequently from HIS perspective, validated the genocide.

Does that make any sense?? Thanks:D

The faith and principle thing is (IMO) more to do with societys view of "faith nad principle" and I dont think too many people would say that Hitler was a man of faith and principle!. + it doesnt have to be "Catholic", so again, I dont think it would fit the requirements. ie society isnt "Catholic" (des this make sense?)
Check it out with your teachers and see what they think-they have to mark it after all!
As a school captain, why dont you do the school ethos topic- would be really easy for in your position and you *could* use it to maybe push a point if there is something "lacking" in your school.
Just a thought...
