Just wondering what text books other unis use for 1st year 1st semester courses (LS100 etc) . At UNE we use

Australian guide to legal citation
Butterworths concise legal dictionary
Government Acts interpretations Act
Laying Down the Law
Australian Legal Institutions.

Just would be interesting other prescribed texts to get a dfferent spin on things

The main texts are pretty much the same at UOW!

Australian Guide to Legal Citation (although its free as a pdf file!)
Butterworths Concise Legal Dic
Laying Down The Law (hate that book, too wordy!)
Supplementary Texts

Then if u want u could also buy:

The interpretations Act
Aus Constitution (although theres a copy online and in the back of ur legal dictionary!)

hahaha you think laying down the law is too wordy, try having harry geddes ( one of the guys who wrote the text) as your lecturer, absolutly impossible to take notes from.
