question: do i have to resolve the forces in terms of F and N first and then rearrange to get them solely in terms of F or N. like this: Fsinx = Ncosx - mg, Fcosx = (mv^2/r) - Nsinx or can i just straight away resolve the forces too: F = (m(v^2)cosx)/r - mgsinx, N= mgcosx +(m(v^2)sinx)/r cheers.

You're better off deriving them from scratch

nah man, they usually ask you to resolve them, usually worth 2 or 3 marks.
