Meh. I wasn't sure how I was meant to convey unique and provocative in specifics. So I just said that The Fiftieth gate was unique and provocative through it's midrash technique of combining the past and the present. And for my related...bullshitted...just said something about how it's purpose made it unique, and the way its techniques made it provocative. Don't think I did that well :(

I tried to say like, their form was unique (I did Memento, that movie takes a bit to get used to), and so it created different views of history and memory and their interplay, all that sort of bullshit. I raved on about how they depicted it through their techniques and textual form too.

Mother of god I had no idea what it actually wanted.
Christ.
Unique and evocative are such non-words.
I fucked this one up.
So I ended up talking about representation--meaning like in the syllabus

He'll get marked for one related and the other one won't be marked.

But you can do two.
You won't be marked on it, and all the time you spent setting up points/arguments/whatever on the second text will not be marked.
I'd assume a couple of good paragraphs will not marked and there are probably chunks of the main argument missing.

It's not like it's an advantage in anyway at all to do two.

My assessment for this module was pretty much same question, except it was 'Diverse and Provocative' :)
Basically:
Unique - how they are different
Evocative - how they are further represented + link to whatever your thesis is.

For Fifiteth Gate I just talked about the midrash shit to show how it was a unique approach n evocative is just meaningful but with an emotional sense isnt it O.O

unique -> perspective derives from an individual's context and understanding + influence of hindsight on an individual's memory
evocative -> role of personal agenda underlying texts/manipulation in order to deliberately evoke the audience's sympathy/pity etc. or create evocative language

awww ye

This. There's no penalty imposed but considering you wasted time doing 2 instead of 1, you'd lose marks for lacking detail anyway.

Re: lol at my friend doing 2 related for module C

I used 2 when it said 1. However i had 2 ideas, so i did one related for each idea. It's very hard to get 2 ideas out of one related text. They can kiss my arse if they think they're taking marks off for that.

So essentially, i didn't do 2 for each idea.

.. that kinda threw me off too
Would you lose marks if only like a third of the essay was related + about 800 words? Cause originally I did half-related half-Caesar.
