Hi,

Does anyone know anything about these two clubs (are they reasonably active?) and/or how I could get in contact with whoever runs them?

I found the comedy club's myspace, but it doesn't tell me very much...

Congus to you too; you missed the sarcasm

Now why don't we stop bickering and be friends :D (not sarcasm, BTW)

Hmm, wonder if anyone from the comedy club will post here

Unhappy is the fate of one who tries to win his battles and succeed in his attacks without cultivating the spirit of enterprise; for the result is waste of time and general stagnation. Hence the saying: The enlightened ruler lays his plans well ahead; the good general cultivates his resources.

Move not unless you see an advantage; use not your troops unless there is something to be gained; fight not unless the position is critical. If it is to your advantage, make a forward move; if not, stay where you are. Anger may in time change to gladne ss; vexation may be succeeded by content.

No leader should put troops into the field merely to gratify his own spleen; no leader should fight a battle simply out of pique. But a kingdom that has once been destroyed can never come again into being; nor can the dead ever be brought back to life. Hence the enlightened leader is heedful, and the good leader full of caution.

Don't know...

They've been notoriously difficult for me to track down. Either no-one knows about them, or the members have their names but no contact details.

On the other hand, it was really easy to get a hold of Phillip here, AND apparently the President and Vice-President of the society are friends of one of my co-workers in Student Central...!!!!!

Mike go easy on him, he's just trying to get along :)

There in the forum swarm a numerous train;
The subject of debate, a townsman slain:
One pleads the fine discharged, which one denied,
And bade the public and the laws decide:
The witness is produced on either hand:
For this, or that, the partial people stand:
The appointed heralds still the noisy bands,
And form a ring, with sceptres in their hands:
On seats of stone, within the sacred place, [253]
The reverend elders nodded o’er the case;
Alternate, each the attesting sceptre took,
And rising solemn, each his sentence spoke
Two golden talents lay amidst, in sight,
The prize of him who best adjudged the right.

Yikes! Is it something else? I'm awful with names! I do remember it started with "P", although that was pretty obvious :/

This is why uni is important and you should never graduate. Seriously, too much time. And nice on the robe and hat. I had forgotten about that story. It made me laugh again!

And I believe his name begins with M, but thats just what I have been told.

Hey Nik,

All sorted out now, but thanks anyway :)

Just about given up on Comedy Club as they are *that* hard to get a hold of (I've got a name, but need to do a 'background search' to get a hold of whatshisname's contact details... and Sandie's out of the country!) Just waiting for Pyromaniacs to get back to me now :/ Might give them a call tomorrow...!!

Hi! :-D

Not any news, really.

The modern Egyptians are idiots - that's pretty much my only discovery.

We've been travelling all around the country in our spare time (after work and day (Friday) off).

Right now we're in Aswan, which is in the south of the country. We're here for a few days because there's a festival on and we can't work. The festival is the Ede, Islam's most important holiday, celebrating Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son. In the story, God ended up stopping Abraham at the last moment and told him to kill a sheep instead.

So all these Arabs invite their families over and kill sheep on the streets. Very lovely stuff. :-/

I'm travelling with a good friend, but everyone keeps cracking onto her, so I have to yell at them to get away from my wife.

Anyways, this netcafe is grotty, like the country itself, so I need to go.

Hope you're all well! :-D
