Hahaha...thats if she doesn't come to her senses:p

It is like me calling you a shit lawyer even though you aren't a lawyer and haven't even done more than a semester of law subjects. But I won't say that, you'll be a good lawyer as long as you don't go comparing justice to monopoly.

Edit: I'm thinking I want because I will anyway...
and did you go out last night?
And I forgot when your birthday is and I'm sure its this month...please tell

You sound so informed about the world. Please do tell me more
Same criticism goes to Sydney Technical College in the early 1950s when it decided to become university of NSW.

UWS is a young uni, and it still has a long way to go to earn ppl's respect.

I see you live in the east which therefore somewhat clouts your judgement about UWS. UWS is not a crap or shit uni....its there for a purpose and its doin a damn good job as of now the way i see it. i must admit uws didnt even come to my mind during uni selection time but well im glad i chose it coz if i just chose unsw or usyd or macquarie then i wont be at uni this year at all..

and for the comment that its a shit uni..let me say that the dad of one of my co-workers at kmart in bondi told me dat he thinks uws is startin to become a good uni..dats coming from a bloke who lives in the same region as wer u exist..makes me wonder where your dad got his opinion from

I am just going to put this out there. Please do not make this into a 'is UWS a crap uni' thread, if you feel you need to justify your choice for staying/not staying at UWS to people who don't even really know you its just childish. I will have enough trouble keeping this forum free from that crap over the next few months when the 07's put in their UAC apps and I don't want to see it from you guys. it only brings reinforces the ideas that people hold about UWS as they see you feeling the need to justify yourselves. Just ignore it, they will get bored and stop. Ok guys? I just want the forum to be a pleasant place and I dont want to be the big bad evil moderator.

Oh and Raaaachel might I add you really have no purpose in here except to bag out UWS and its students. According to your profile you are doing your HSC in 08, I doubt you know as much about uni as the rest in here, you are still at school. I have been to UWS for a year and I think its a bit much to judge UWS med school when it started this year. It can't be that bad if it is accredited. Do you really think they would allow UWs to run a dodgey med program when peoples lives are at stake? UWS has some really good points over other unis and some bad ones, but one thing I don't miss about UWS is people who judge it and you (especially people who don't go there or even to university at all) when they have no idea what they are talking about but claim that they do.

Maybe from where you live? Sorry it just sounds so stuck up.
I live in the Inner West i.e. Strathfield and Bankstown campus is 20 mins from my house as is Parramatta. The others aren't that far and to most of Western Sydney which it is supposed to provide access for it is close. Besides none of the campuses are in the bush or anything dear, Parramatta is like 5 mins drive from the Westfield.

That means nothing. Your dad being a doctor has nothing to do with your worldly knowledge. If anything it shows you have very little as you are basing your opinion purely on someone else's. Unless you have any university experience at all, you can have no valid opinion on the subject as you have no basis for it.

Read Melsc's reply to your post and take her advice.

2 things wrong here.

1.You draw you perspectives and knowledge about the world from what Dr Dad says.

2.You think Western Sydney (specifically c'town) is in the middle of nowhere.

Hmm oookkk then..........

Is there any engineering students on here that have done Maths for Engineers 2 and passed it?, i would like to know how it is in comparision to maths 1 in the shit you learn and how much harder it is because the handbook description for maths 2 isnt very good.

"This is a level 100 unit to be undertaken by students enrolled in an Engineering degree. It covers the following topics: Ordinary Differential Equations and Multivariable Calculus."

My dad did law at Usyd and UNSW, he admits that UWS law does not have the prestige associated with the other unis. How did he draw that conclusion? He has seen how GRADUATES from UWS have been treated by some when finding a job, however, most employers have a higher emphasis on grades than university prestige (not to null out the influence of the latter).

However, UWS Med school has only taken in its first cohort this year and has no graduates. So how has your father evaluated the ability of those doctors it has produced to brand them shit? Similarly, the medical program is based on the University of Melbourne's medical program which is highly regard in Australia and as such has been praised by many professionals in the field. I'm not trying to be mean but in essence, your dad is full of shit and is just spreading an ill informed opinion.

The only point you seem to have is one relative to both you and I, the Campbletown campus where the Medicine program is run is in the middle of nowhere. However, for many others it’s right at their doorstep.

waiting for tutorial registration lalalalala
OMFG tute rego pissed me off today!

I only just managed to even get into the sign in page after 15 minutes, and when i did get to the sign in page, in the 2 seconds it took to click log in, it booted me again so i had to start all over again!

They really really need to figure out a better way to do tute rego or fix the problems with the current system....

yeh it was disgusting. i clicked try again so many times. luckily i still got the seminars i wanted. r u doing law? what year?
Yeah i am. 3rd year atm

Pisses me off when to register for one unit it takes longer than for my 3 business ones.

Plus, law has a smaller student body and fewer units to register for than say, school of management so usually its heaps quicker...

thats exactly what puzzled me! economics was seemless and its so much huger. presumably they use the same servers so wft!

also may i ask how have you found law at UWS? (I'm 1st year)
In short - i have liked all the teachers except two... one though probably wasn't his fault he was so lost because he wasn't the unit coordinator.

I like the course and the way its taught.

Assessments have been good especially compared to the business half of my degree becaues they're really varied but you can see their practical use.

Basically what i don't like are the students and the shitty administration.

Yeah law was so much longer than eco and ever so annoying...they use 4 servers for platform web during tutorial registrations and thats how I get the stuff almost straight away...just suss out which one has the least traffic.

https://platformweb01.uws.edu.au

https://platformweb02.uws.edu.au

https://platformweb03.uws.edu.au

not that simple..

btw there's more than 4 - i've gone to platformweb.uws.edu.au before and been diverted automatically to platformweb08.uws.edu.au.

All of them were screwy :p i tried multiple ones, was diverted back and forth amongst them and ended up gettin thru finally on the basic one...

Is Law Foundations as boring as Intro to law?

lol no way!

Although that could be because i had Maragret Hyland for Intro and she was really boring... and then i had Simon Kozlina who is the most awesome teacher for Law Foundation.

Law foundation is way more interesting. You cover a bigger range of stuff and its not just legal history... eg you do the whole socialism vs capitalism thing from a legal perspective; theories of ethics; logical reasoning; links between class and crime; role of corporations in ethical/legal debates; scientific research etc etc

Its raelly interesting and very very easy to get an easy D or higher in if you do your work :)
