19th is my orientation :) does anyone know what it means by "light refreshments?" is it just like.. tea and biscuits? :confused:

at our law orientation it was like cake, buscuits, BBQ and house beer/wine

oh wait, that was the faculty welcome

yeah i assume its tea, coffee & busicuts for orientation.
and the union will have a BBQ.

You don't have to go to either, but there is nothing stopping you from going to the one of your non-dominant degree if you so choose.

shouldnt really be a reason you wouldnt go to both if you were doing a co degree...your gonna end up seeing people from both faculties

haha i just read the thing about social inquiry with about a 50:1 girl/guy ratio. My choice to go UTS is improving everyday :p

i went to syd uni enrollment today with a mate as well and as far as i can tell ours is about 10 times easier than what she had to do so woot for uts

Just a thought - if we get our photos taken for our ID cards at enrolment, do we also get to take it home that day? Because with other universities they tell students to pick it up before o-week, which suggests that there's a waiting period between when the id card is made and when it can be picked up.

syd uni ppl took theirs home today, they had lil print machines. I woulda thought itd be the same for us(on that day) or they would mail it out to ya. Either way you are gonna get the card so meh....didnt really help did it

As far as I can recall you get it right away.

It gets taken and printed there.
and its a new card this year, which lasts you for your time at uni
they emailed current students this information

all current students are also getting a new card with the same picture mailed out for 2007.

So look out for the mail, our UTS id will be there soon :)

aww damn. i hate the idea of the perpetual card. if i look fug in this photo, i'd be carrying a fug photo of me for 3-4 years. How much does a replacement card cost?

replacement card i think is just a print off a new card, with the same photo they have on file
my friend had to do it a couple of times
