bring back the lc

with so many students doing accelerated programs, so many going to tutoring companies after school, so many syllabuses overseas so far ahead of nsw, i reckon it’s time to consider bringing back the lc.

many teachers don’t even know how hsc started. it came about as a result of the wyndham scheme in the 1950s replacing the 3-year ic and 2 year lc with a 4 year sc and 2 year hsc.

the result in 1967 was for the first time in nsw there was a year 12 and they had to wait an extra year before going to uni, and most students going into first year uni were forever after 1 year older than before

undoing the wyndham scheme and bringing back the lc would mean 5 years for high school, not 6 before going to uni. it would also mean first year uni students 1 year younger like it was before.

well yeah the other side of this is 1 year younger before graduating from uni.

i can image some people who can't see past their nose would object to my idea.

but just think how good it would be if u could leave uni 1 year earlier!
but if people graduated a year younger, does that mean that the July cutoff where u can start a year earlier wouldn't exist. Cause graduating high school at 16 is quite young

I just put english adv, mx1&2, physics and chem in uac’s calculator and getting an 80 in everything except english adv (60) gets you 87.5 so yeah
You’ll get there!

Also just based on your signature you’re ATSI right? Doesn’t that mean that you’re able to get lowered atar cutoffs for many courses/higher selection ranks?
this is an estimate, with these marks the max you can get is 85 (put standard instead of advanced)

advanced 60 scales the same as standard 60 (which is correctly counted in the uac calcualtor)

I'm not abo tho lol
