Hi can someone help with this? for some reason my answer confilcts with the book.

Q)a) show the cartesian eq of the tangent and normal to the following parabolas at the point indicated.

x=t, y=t^2/2 + 3 where t=2

b) x=t+ 2, y=t^2/4 +1 at the vertex
thanks

Q)a) show the cartesian eq of the tangent and normal to the following parabolas at the point indicated.

x=t, y=t^2/2 + 3 where t=2

y = x^2/2 + 3
when t = 2, x = 2, y= 5

dy/dx = x. when x = 2, mt = 2, mn = -1/2

equation of tangent
2(x-2) = (y-5)
2x - 4 = y - 5
2x + 1 = y

equation of normal
-0.5(x-2) = y - 5
- 0.5x + 1 = y - 5
-0.5x + 6 = y
-x + 12 = 2y
x + 2y - 12 = 0
