Okay I feel like I'm behind already with about a hundred major works to do!:vcross:

But anyway, could someone help me work a topic out a little?

I want to do something related to how society's expectations on women's success have changed in the last decade from having skills (as women have been encouraged to in the last thirty or so years) to just using sexuality - and how this is demonstrated through the way in which the pornographic-looking Bratz Doll has replaced the wholesome multitalented (vet, nurse, gymnast, chef, pilot, flight attendant, etc) Barbie Doll as a role model for girls.

Can someone help me play with this to narrow it down?

Thanks:D

I think your idea for your PIP sounds good, I don't really know how you can narrow it down. Have you come up with any new ideas since this post? The comparison from the barbie to the bratz doll is good though. What has your teacher said about it at all? I suppose in a way you can also relate this idea to celebrities using their sexuality to promote whatever the f*** they are doing aka Paris Hilton.
I'm starting on my PIP now also. As well as my IRP and extension 2 english major work.

Sounds like an interesting topic because youre right in saying that expectations on womens success have changed, but also - these dolls that are being marketed to young girls dont really support this idea of women's rights, opportunities etc and how they have increased and developed over the last few decades.
Its also important to bear in mind, however - that this development of new (more sexual, fun, immature-esque) toys may be the manifestation of the women's realisation in terms of sexual freedom.
