I heard that some ps2 games have some sort of new protection on them that means they won't run on a ps2 with a mod chip.

Since having a mod chip is now legal in Australia isn't that some sort of fair use violation by the company that makes the game?

They're stupid because it's obvious that the only reason why people install a mod chip into their ps2, is so that they can play games cheaper. But i heard that you can't chip the thin ps2 or install a hard drive. correct me if i'm mistaken.

Oh and despite being protection, people will find ways to get around it, quicker then you imagine lol.
