Are you doing poetry for your critical response, if so, what are you doing??
I initially wanted to write poetry, but the thought of writing "on-demand" like that was a little scarey. I'd rather write for pleasure than to have to keep forcing myself to produce "spontaneous" works of art.
So with two of my favourite poets I choose critical response.
I've decided to undertake an in-depth analysis of certain poetic works by John Donne and Gerard Manley Hopkins. I intend to explore these poets’ expressions of faith and doubt, and of the nature of their relationship to God. I will compare and contrast the way in which this subject is treated with reference to the meditative tradition and religious contemplation.
