A couple of quick questions regarding the subject:
What year did the new syllabus start and is it going to be the same for 2022 HSC?
Also, are past papers written before the change still useful?

Thank you.

2020 was the first year where the new syllabus took effect for all levels of HSC Mathematics. It will most likely be the same for the 2022 HSC.

I believe that old syllabus past papers may be useful in some aspects, but you should not complete any of them before you study and are comfortable with all of the current syllabus content including topics/concepts/formulas as well as practice questions and the 2020 (and soon 2021) HSC papers.

I hope this helps! 😄

First HSC exam new syllabus maths is 2020.

Pre mid-2010s, you would have to be actually good at maths to do HSC 4u exams.

If your school isn't like top 10, you could probably bludge 4U and expect a reasonable trial.

In the new syllabus, most of the content in complex numbers, integration and mechanics are the same as the old syllabus, but proof and vector are completely new topics.
