Hey,

I'm starting Year 11 in eleven days. I chose Music 2. I finished my AMEB exams up to Grade 8. My teacher has picked out a few pieces from the C-mus syllabus, and I think I can definitely use them for the performance part of Year 11. (Given that we're learning music from the common era) But I'm hesitant on doing the C-mus/A-mus exams. I had Grant Foster for my Grade 8 exam and scored a B+. The highest I've ever gotten is an A-, and the lowest a B-.

Any thoughts or experiences?

Do it.

I did my Certificate last year (yr 10), and while it didn't feel too hard, its definitely on a whole new level compared to 8th.
Not in hardness, but you get into playing full multi-movements (a whole sonata rather than mov.1 for instance) and the recital style performance makes it quite satisfying.

I won't be doing AMus until after school, taking a break, but Certificate is very doable in year 11.

Know its been 2 months lol, hope its still relevant, highly recommend
