Time allocation for paper 2 (1 Viewer)

I know its a 40 min split each, but how are you guys gonna plan and if so how much is it advisable to get a quick plan so that I know exactly how to adapt? Thanks!

Always plan. Typically, I spend 10 minutes planning my response and 6 minutes composing each paragraph. However, if you can plan quicker, I would advise doing 5 minutes of planning followed by 35 minutes of writing. In my case, I spend much of my time planning to avoid rewriting my memorised response as taking in the question requires a couple of minutes in itself and thinking of the thesis and adaptability a few minutes after.
