Could somebody give me an estimated range of marks I should aim for if I wanted a Band 6, Band 5 or Band 4 in 2U Maths (out of 120 marks).

Just take an estimated guess please. Thanks.

really depends if the paper is easier than last years, it seems to me that there has been a trend towards progressively easier papers in the last 3-4 years

could you, for example, give me the estimate for previous years then? A numerical range may help put things a bit into perspective for me.

It usually lies around the mid 90's for a band 6. Last year 94/120 was a 90.

lol I dont know,

very rough estimates:

for last years paper maybe if you got like 105/120 ( full marks on just bout everything excpet last question ) raw you would get 90%

if you got 90/120 ( thats equivalent of getting about 8 FULL questions correct ) raw you would get 80% '

if you 75/120 you would probably get 70%

lol I dont know, they are very rough and are by no means correct.

think bout it this way , if you can get full marks on the first 9 questions and then even get 1 or 2 out of 12 for the last question then you will definately get 95+ exam mark.

Its not nearly as hard as it seems to get

^ I mean that with regard to a pretty easy paper like last year , if you get a harder paper dont stress out if you cant ace Q1-9

I only got 100% for question 4 last year and still got a band six LOL. Keeping in mind I got multiple 11/12's.

well using what we know as fact

2010: 94/120 --> 90 aligned
80/120--> 80 ??
65/120--> 70??

That'd be more accurate imo.

I got 95 as my exam mark and when i got home after my exam i worked it out to be within 106-110/120.. so i think it makes sense

Same here though my raw estimate was around 108/120.

I know I lost at least 2 marks, and I ended up with a 99 exam mark, so I'm guessing 117-118/120 = 99

Imagine 4unit people had to sit the 2U exam and it counted...it would be much harder to achieve a band 6
Not really, it wouldn't work like that - as bands are matched up with standards set by a committee, with this year being 94/120 = band 6

You use known band cutoffs and estimate from there.

Generally 90-95/120 is a band 6, just, these days. Sometimes this will be higher.
