This for those who have done the HSC and for some reason are still interested in talking about the HSC.

What UAI did you get?
and what subject did you do?

I'm just curious. :)

Any two units of english must be included - my extension units counted instead of the advanced course.

Doing the philosophy course was one of the best things I've ever done. Truly opens your mind. There's info on the course content at www.distinction.nsw.edu.au

PS: Manly High, eh? Those freaks? :p I suppose I can't really talk. =)

No... although it's a 2 unit course, it is only done for a single year - you're not eligible for the course unless you've accelerated in at least one subject. I did 3u computing studies in y11, so I couldn't do philosophy until y12.

I quite liked the Extension 1 exam last year - we did 'Retreat From The Global'.

The questions were fairly straightforward. Although there were essentially two 'essay' questions instead of one essay and a creative writing piece, that didn't really present a problem. Personally I believe it made things easier, because you didn't have to waste time organising a story et cetera!

I decided after my trial exams that 2u english was going to be the course that didn't count, and hence didn't really spend much time at all studying for it when the HSC exams came around. In hindsight, that probably wasn't such a good idea, but I don't think it would have made a significant difference anyway. I never liked the format of the 2u exam - having to write three essays (or texts, whatever) on completely different topics in two hours really annoyed me.

you know maybe she didn't want everyone in the world to know...not everyone is fortunate to be as smart as you or willing to tell every single person exactly how they went and what marks they got etc. i dont know, maybe im just a rude bastard who is ignorant of such things...
