I had maths tuition since Year 9 because it was my weakest subject. Maths Ext1 ended up being my best performing subject and it's all because of my excellent tutor!

I didn't need tutoring, and a 98+ UAI was my reward for a year of bludging in every subject besides maths:)

Where I come from you only need tutoring if you are failing a subject miserably.

Dear everyone,

I had a weekly Advanced English tutor (I got 78 as my final HSC mark, even though I couldent write fast enough to finnish 2-3 sections over the two advanced english papers)
Great Tutor though

and I had an occasional Begginers Japanese tutor ( 75, but it got scaled down to nothing)

In year 11 i was averaging around 50-60%for my english tests. After a year of English tutoring, I had a pretty good trial and ended up with 91 for my hsc exam mark. So it's worth it if you have a good tutor. I did get tutored for other subs but I think I would've done well without it.

Proudly say I've never been tutored in anything and received a pretty decent result. Nothing but (hard?) work.

The only subject I ever had tutoring for was english for about half of yr 12 - it was a good tutor but it was still my worst subject by far (83) and prevented my uai from being really high
