Damn I can't edit the title. It was supposed to read: "Who thinks they or someone they know has 99.95 in the bag?"

Just out of curiosity, which BOSers do we think will get 99.95?? And how many people in the state normally get one?

Good luck to all the Year 12s for tomorrow and the day after...and the apocalypse :))))

There's this homo guy in our school (srs) that came first in 4 subjects in Y11 (3rd in his other two subjects) (school rank 20-40) who consistently gets good marks. He's definitely going to get the .95.

Amazing, considering he gets so much ass :O

Is one state ranking and high Band 6's enough to guarantee a 99.95?

Yeah I know a few people that should definitely get .95. One guy at our school came top 3 in all subs and state ranked 4U maths last year so he'll be sweet

I know someone from my school but she does IB so doesn't really count
she's almost guaranteed a 45 (equivalent to 99.95)

Two state rankings?
no.

State rankings does not change your ATAR by much. If you get like 4 state ranks and you flunk English you still won't get 99.95. It will depend on how you do in the hsc as a whole rather than by individual subjects.

Actually state ranks can influence ATAR's quite a but because the scaling algorithm isn't linear-> i.e. a 98 in chem is a big jump in terms of scaled marks from 97.

possibly Mischa Davenport ... someone who can get 4 state rankings is a very good contender for 99.95 if english is also good

yes that is correct. I was just trying to say that getting state rank and not doing well in other subjects does not guarantee you 99+.

@Talisman
I have a friend who got state rankings for both 3U and 4U Maths but got low band 5 for Eng Adv and ended up with 99.00.

*Official deswa1 99.95 cheerleaders' roll call!*

But yes, most of the .95s should've been revealed by now a la the usyd combined phone calls.
