Well lets see,

a) You posted it where it is unlikely we would go, I just stumbled here by chance.
b) Slide Rule has Maths Ext 1 on thursday
c) Acmilan has at least one assignment due friday
d) I have 5 due friday.

I could do them on saturday, but that might be unlikely.

Joe, feel free to write up solutions yourself, now that you are no longer constrained by the time restrictions of the exam. I'd be happy to sticky them in the maths forum. :)

I'll do the solutions for question 1 and maybe 2
I'll see how it goes
That will be a good start to it

I'm not confident with my results for the rest except a few parts of questions, anyway I'll do what I can and then if I'm wrong I can be corrected I guess...
Anyone can assist in the others would be great

I'll type up some solutions =D

Q1

(a) 3.7 (2sf)

(b) x3-27 = (x-3)(x2+3x+9)

(c) ∫4+sec2x dx = 4x + tan(x) + C

(d) (2x-3)/2 - (x-1)/5 = [5(2x-3)-2(x-1)]/10
= [10x-15-2x+2]/10
= (8x-13)/10

(e) |x-3| <= 1
(x-3)2 <= 1
x2-6x+9-1 <= 0
x2-6x+8 <=0
(x-2)(x-4) <= 0
{2 <= x <= 4}

(f) x2 = 8(y-1)
4a = 8, a = 2
Vertex (0,1), parabola is of the form x2 = 4ay (concave up)
Thus, Focus = (0, 1 + a) = (0, 3)

I had plenty of time this afternoon so I cooked up a document with the answers only. Proofs are not there, nor are worked solutions.

Feel free to add proofs and what not, this effort was just to see how many silly calculation errors I made.

Hopefully all are correct =D

sorry kutay, but it is wrong. im only saying it from doing a psat paper on that type of qestion, and you have to add it to 2005 and say what year it was. i think it was during the year 2017 if i remember correct.
i kinda wanna forget about this paper and the crappyness of the paper in certain parts which is why i don't wanna post up my answers.

Well by your answers (and my memory of what I put) I'd get around raw mark 110.
They look right to me.

Ahh, you forgot the -1. Formula for T13=a+(n-1).d

So it's ($2500x12)+$50000=$80000

I got the same answer for part ii :).
