for Q7 a)i) isnt the answer ($2500 x 13) + 50000 = $82500
and ii) 50000(1.04)^13 = $83253.65

are these rite??
snickerdoodle already pointed out part i

for part ii, thats what i ended up getting, but i think its to the 12 as when u write it out you get 50000(1.04n-1) as there is not pay increase on the first year.

What answer did you get because if you multiply that answer by 6 you get 60000/44551 = 135% or maybe i'm just misinterpreting what you are saying

The probability question in that answer set IS correct.

You're right in saying that you have to multiply by six, but that answer already has taken that into account

Here:
P(One of each) = (100/300) x (100/299) x (100/298) x 6 = 0.224461....
)
Which is the same as the decimal approximation in that worked solutions. (As 10000/44551 = 0.224461...

According to those answers posted before I've only lost about 4 marks from what I can remember, depending on how many I lose for some questions like the volume integration question where I did it right then convinced myself that 24 Pi couldn't be the answer so I changed it at the last minute.

my mistake then but i remember multiplying a big fraction by 6 and the decimal was 0.22 si in that case the answer was right, was anyone else a bit worried when big numbers started coming out of their calculators usually probability for q5 is like 4/7 or 2/3 simple numbers i though that question was more q7 or q8

apparently there were 51% of you who sat the maths exam who did 3 unit and my teacher said us 2 unit kids dont stand a chance of getin a band 6. To any 3 unit students out there... did u find the exam hard? and if any1 can post up solutions 2 question 6 ... apparently d hsc markers were reely disappointed in it
