I have known Jasnoor from high school (day 1) till now where we are at UNSW studying science and I can say without a doubt that his skills as a tutor and dedication to the craft of tutoring will yield you the results you desire (no pun intended). I would recommend him to anyone who wants the edge for chemistry in high school, I have seen many students go to him and ace their subjects for the HSC, also his resources and the dedication he has put towards them is unparalleled. In short would highly recommend.

hi jasnoor what days are you able to do tutoring.
and i have a question is chemistry required to do medical science in uni?
Hi sorry all my classes are full at the moment and I don’t do individual tutoring. The only thing I can offer you is if you make a group with your own friends / classmates and want to join then I can do that but other than that all my groups are full. In terms of your other question in medical science yes you do have to do chemistry subjects so yeah if you want to do that as a degree then you should ideally do chemistry in year 11-12.

My teacher said however that university's no longer require prequisites and it doesnt matter what subjects you do in the hsc. Is that true?
It does matter and that is not true. Unis have prerequisites for a lot of degrees, such as a lot of the commerce, economics type degrees at unsw have 2 unit maths recommended at a minimum and for engineering and science they recommend you do 3 unit at least. For a medical science degree i dont know how much chemistry they do since i didnt do the degree, but I presume your plan is of doing medical science to go into some type of medicine later. Chemistry is important to know because if you are using medical science as a pathway to medicine then you have to achieve high marks as it is a very competitive degree as a lot of people want to do medicine. Therefore, you can't really expect to just pick up chemistry at uni and understand it better than someone who spent 2 years doing the subject and would therefore know it better.

Teachers and students say random sayings that are actually detrimental later on. For example, the common phrase of do what subjects interest you or do easy subjects so you perform well. It is not a good choice to neglect engaging with a subject that your degree choice is also about. That will lead to you having gaps in your knowledge as well as what guarantee do you have that you will enjoy medical science in uni if u haven't been exposed to the kind of content you are going to learn about. At the start of year 11 you might have one picture of a degree you want to do and for a lot of people like myself that perspective changes after you do the subjects in year 11 and 12 and you see what you are good at and enjoy, as i didnt want to initially do chemistry degree in year 10

If I was you and wanted to a medical science degree you should do chemistry and biology in high school as those subjects are extremely relevant. Anyways other than that if you have any other questions, can you please set up a separate post / thread (as i want to keep this thread for strictly my tutoring advertising)

Hi, sorry but these materials have been made specifically for the use in my tutoring classes and not for online access, so unfortunately I can’t offer that alternative to you.

Hello Jasnoor, I really want to go to your tutoring classes however I am quite disappointed to hear your classes are full at the moment. I am very weak at Chemistry and need constant help for the upcoming HSC exams. Do you think there are any spot available for me around June/July this year????? Appreciate all your notes and advices you gave us!!!!

Hi, if you are in Year 12 or sitting the 2020 HSC for Chem this year, then it is unlikely that I will have any spots open during the year. As I don’t plan to make any new classes due to being very busy with a lot students and trying to manage uni study. So unfortunately in that instance I can’t really offer much and it would be wrong of me to give you hope, where in that time you could find another tutor. If you have this problem one thing I would recommend to you is watch YouTube videos on concepts (I even do this now that I am in uni and it is very helpful) and if you look for a tutor try to find someone who has done or is doing a chemistry degree, is a teacher or started in the new syllabus. Most likely people from old syllabus who haven't done any extra learning won't have first hand experience with the new syllabus content.

If you are in Year 11, I can make groups if you have friends already with you. Also, then some time this year I will begin opening spots for new students to go into Year 12 tutoring for the 2021 HSC, so look back at that time (I’m not sure at the moment when but it will be 1-2 months prior to start of Year 12).
