    Have you done COMP2907 or COMP2007?

    Hi guys, I am thinking of taking COMP2907 (adv) but what is the difference between the standard and advanced streams? I have heard that COMP2007 is one of the hardest computing courses in Australia, would that make COMP2907 impossible? What are your experiences with the UoS? Thanks

    Academic Honesty Test: Mandatory?

    Hi guys, I remember at UNSW every student had to do a small coursework on plagiarism and academic honesty and I noticed on the left hand side of the USyd blackboard there is a link to Academic Honesty and a test. Is this compulsory? I wasn't told by anyone that I have to do this yet.

    What time of day is the biggest influx of students?

    Would it be ~9AM? Reason I ask is I hate crowded trains and I would like to avoid it. I assume 9AM would be the worst when you include people going to work/school etc?

    Having a math tutorial after a math lecture of a different topic?

    Is it a bad idea? It would be more convenient however I don't know if moving to a different topic (MATH1001 Lec to MATH1002 Tut) one after the other will confuse me or affect me in a way, Any suggestions? Thanks

    Hi guys, I'm enrolling 1st year of IT and wanted to know a few things; Firstly what were your 1st year "core units" and secondly what was your major? 2 different portals on the USyd website state 2 different set of core units for the Information Systems stream. Thanks!

    This is confusing, course plan 3rd year.

    "Note: At least 18 credit points of Year 3 Recommended units of study must be completed across the year as a whole, with at least 12 credit points from Year 3 Recommended A." This degree needs 24 Credit points of electives in the 3rd year. Can someone explain this? Its rather confusing.

    Enrollment/Administration mishap.

    I was going through MyUni Admin and realized the lady who enrolled my units made a mistake and put 1 subject in sem2 instead of sem 1, so I have 30UOS in sem 2 vs 18 in sem 1. Should I call them up (I have tried but they're apparently busy so I have to keep trying)? or is this an easy fix...

    When can I do a transfer into a different course?

    Is it after 1 year of study (worth of credits) or can it be after 2 years of study? Because the subjects of the course I plan to transfer into have essentially the same courses. I am talking specifically about internal transfers at USYD, Thank you.

    Probability: Product and Addition rule confusion

    Hi guys, Q: 2 Dice are thrown and their sum noted, find the probability of getting a total of 2. Since there are 2 Dies (let's call them A and B) wouldn't the solution be P(1A,1B) or P(1B,1A)? so (1/6 x 1/6) + (1/6 x 1/6)? Thank you. Answer says something else.
