    Totally disgusted by the American arrogance and comments on Australian med schools!

    like KFunk, I appreciate the hypocrisy present in both the OP and many others here.

    Is suicide the "easy" option?

    I only have contempt for people who suicide when theres at least one person who loves them appropriately. I stress the word "appropriately" as many families love their children in the wrong fashion. One example is forcing them to study, ignorant of their emotional needs, etc. A wide emotional...

    Personal experience info for graduate entry

    I dont know where to find extensive personal info on graduate entry. Ausmedstudent used to be a fantastic resource, now its closed. Some overseas medical student forums have abit of info on Australian med schools, but its largely irrelevent to me as I live here. The only good source I know at...

    Mining Engineering.

    Fair enough I thought photolysis was just energy storage. But instead of properly addressing the points raised, the logic you use to justify your stance is pathetic. I wasted my time with a hippy.

    Mining Engineering.

    Please tell me the solar technology that isnt photovoltaic cells, that will somehow become the main source of energy, and which you somehow discussed in a 'bunch of posts'. Solar towers is the only other competitive solar option I know of, but you elaborated very little about solar towers, if...

    Mining Engineering.

    No I dont think its for hippies, im also very much an environmentalist relative to the general public. The truth is, solar/wind , as it is now as a form of mass energy, is a pipe dream. Perhaps in the future it can be viable. Ironically that kind of response(the kind that doesnt address the...

    umat S3

    The rotating dots is easy to spot. Regarding the shapes, theres a simpler method I devised. Every second step each shape jumps to the position diagonal to it.

    Mining Engineering.

    I was thinking that the articles you presented actually has some revelations of new incredible technical acheivements in existing renewables(wind and solar), or a new method of renewable energy is developed. Instead I see just the same old wishful thinking and promotion for solar/wind without...

    Immediate transfer at start of year; doable?

    Im enrolled in bachelor of advanced science. My first day at uni is two days away. However, I now prefer to do Civil engineering instead as the mediocre job prospects of a life/biological science degree has finally got to me. I like civil eng and science equally(fully knowing that engineering...

    using machinery in universities

    Mainly for hobbies, car fixing, and other miscellaneous stuff. I guess my intended course, Science in biotechnology(basically an engineering approach to bio) will require a little work with machinery.

    using machinery in universities

    Do universities let you operate machinery(e.g. lathes, drill presses) just like high school? If so, under what conditions?

    China plans to dominate Asia and the World

    wrong. Ancient China at various stages occupied North Vietnam, Korea, and attempted to invade Japan. The Chinese culture definately 'invaded' Japan, much of Japanese writing is basically copied from Chinese writing. If you include Mongolians as Chinese(IMO they should be, they played an...

    the Life of a Med Student

    I decided very late that I wanted to do med, too late infact. Considering the effort I had already made for the HSC, i knew I wouldnt stand a chance.

    the Life of a Med Student

    BMP = bonded medical place - the govt forces you to work for 6 years in an area of workforce shortage after you become a full doctor. BMPS = BMP + govt gives you money(scholarship). Theyre mostly not additional places. Much of these BMP/BMPS places have replaced normal standard HECS...

    the Life of a Med Student

    For many med students I dont think its as bad as you word it. I wont survive on constant 5 hrs sleep. People have been saying the same thing about the HSC year. I managed to pull through with relatively little study. The jump from yr10 to yr11 is probably the same as the jump from HSC to uni. It...

    the Life of a Med Student

    Anyone worrying about stress levels of doing medicine should look more at the life of registrars/registers. That stage of the game is where the stress levels peak, there are some horror stories of people working insane hours. (around 80 hour weeks) Things usually get much better when you obtain...

    Wollongong Med?

    I havent applied. I guess when UWS opens then it would be somewhat easier for me to get into newcastle. I guess you got rejected from newcastle? What activities/responsibilities that you undertaken, did you mention in your interviews?

    Wollongong Med?

    proof? I would think much fewer people would apply for newcastle than UNSW because of UNCLEs location. Not many people would want to move out and Newcastle Area population is much smaller than Sydney metropolitan.
