does it really 'test' your english skills?

The sheer ignorance of some people is just gobsmacking. I hate when people ask if there is an exam for EE2 and, when met with a: "No, it's a major work", they brush it off like THEY could do it. I don't think so. I don't think people who aren't undertaking EE2 realise the YEAR of hard work...

Who's doing an all nighter...for no particular reason..

Yeah, all nighter for me too I think.. unless I start to *really* fall asleep. BAH! Oh well.. apparently in previous years you've been able to get the results 1 or 2 hours early because it's when the server opens. Guess we'll now, eh? :D

    Shortlisted for Young Writers Showcase

Yeah, to be considered for the Showcase, your mark has to be 50/50. Then they shortlist those who have that mark and narrow it down to the 25 or so that are published. Just because you don't get shortlisted does NOT mean you didn't receive a 49 or 50 out of 50. :)

Is anyone here in your exam room?

    111 - Colyton High. :)
  13. M

    So.....

I thought the exam was pretty good. I think they need to make it an hour and a half exam... they can't expect a huge quality essay with just thirty minutes per question. I LOVED the colours in the Ochres question.

    Journey 2005 English Themed Course

I did Coleridge... and analysing it is the worst. The Rime of The Ancient Mariner is INCREDIBLY boring. I NEVER referred to it in the half yearly's, trials or the HSC. It's ridicuously long. The trick to Coleridge is doing the work early, understanding the techniques, the effect that they have...

    The 'CLUBs' Guide (sydney)

Yeah, Icebox is in the Cross. Apparently that's good. Lunacide is on this Saturday at Luna Park.. a hard dance, high energy dance party. Pee Wee is playing. I'm going. It should be good! Mack, you tried Sublime at Home on Friday night? Queues are sometimes ridiculously long when I've...

    The marking begins...

Good point. However, the actual question says: Compare and contrast the representation of journey in any TWO of these texts. In your discussion, comment on the form and features of both texts. So, really, there's no excuse for not using two.....

    The marking begins...

Well, I know they had a problem with one of the questions on Paper One. The question that said use TWO extracts from the Powerpoint presentation and compare and contrast the representation of journeys. Some markers were saying that kids should be given marks even if they only used one extract. I...
