I just changed my timetable to have one 200 (HIST243) and one 300 (HIST359) level subject next semester. So good because I need to do 3x 300 levels for both my majors (historiography and egypt), and that means I'm getting a third of one major done in the first year, which I'm happy about:D

Although this is really irrelevant for you, I thought I'd share it:)

my memory gets a bit hazy about the alegebra in 135/136, but from memory there was a bit of vector stuff thats covered in the stewart book. the other stuff im not sure, youd have to mail the lecturers.

according to this http://www.maths.mq.edu.au/~chrism/math136/ i guess you'd look at the anton book, but ive never seen it. the bits not on vectors you could probably just photocopy some stuff from a text in the library.

they have a few really fat-arse books in the co-op shop for math135. at least i remember seeing them when i was considering buying them (i think the mere 'recommended' bit turned me off and so did the 300+ dollar price for both, oh and the fact that i dropped the subject first week).

I remember one book was specifically algebra. Though i may be wrong...
