How can we work out an estimate of our aligned mark:

A) without paying for a standards CD

B) from our raw marks

the whole sytem is stupid

Basically you can't really do it at this stage.

Not only do the aligning process vary from year to year (i.e. a raw mark of 60/100 in maths in 2002 may not align the same as a raw mark of 60/100 in 2003.

hey do u know what raw mark to get band 6 in math physics chem bio?????????
for 2003 i only know it's 80 for chem cuz my friend got that.

A) All schools have their own copies of the standards packages. You should be able to access them free of charge. Speak with your curriculum coordinator or director of studies.

B) Not feasible at this stage.

is it an average
or say if you do shit and get a school mark of 50 and a hasc mark oof 90 instead on 70 which is and average.. you would get a markl/average of high 70s low 80's is that true

The standards packages contain responses that were awarded marks at the band cut-offs (e.g. borderline band 5/6 and so on). You compare your response to that in the package. If yours is better, your aligned mark would be higher than that band cut-off (e.g. 90); about the same, the mark would be the same; and worse, the mark would be lower.

The process may seem tedious, but the Board believes that it is sufficient for all students.

The marks can be obtained through a Freedom of Information application.
