If I get say, 80 internally and come first. And then I get 100 externally.

Does my HSC mark turn to 90?

OR, does my internal get aligned/ adjusted/ whatever, to lets say, 85-90. THEN that mark and my external are evened out.

Assuming my school mark was adjusted to 90 + my external (100). My HSC mark, would end up 95?

Im just worried, cause i'm coming first in most of my subjects without much effort, (coming first with 70s-80s) and plan on blitzing it in the actual externals.

Should I be worried, or is this system working pretty well.

If you are internally first, and you receive 100 for in the HSC external exam, then you will receive 100 for both internals/external marks.

really?

With that in mind, if i bomb it in the externals. say, get 50, because my internals were 100 it'll change to 75?

What about the case for 2nd place ?

Your internal mark is usually irrelevant. They look at the rankings and the space between each mark. So if you get 50 externally, and you were ranked first (assuming 50 was also the highest external mark in the cohort) but your internal was 90, you should still probably get a 50 internal.

If you are first, and get the highest mark in the HSC exam of 50% then you'll get 50% as your internals/external marks.

If someone beats you, and gets 100% external , then 50+100/2 are averaged together.

If it is as dramatic as that, for the second person then you may be taken out of the moderation process for the rest of your cohort.
