Look at the left hand column:
http://www.arts.usyd.edu.au/future_students/undergrad/global.shtml

it looks like economic & social studies will be renamed as B Arts (Economic & Social Sciences). This makes it possible that B Economic & Social Sciences will stay in the Economics & Business Faculty, but perhaps you may not be able to major in ECOP.

Interesting developments. Interesting find.

Oh and just found this: new govt major (i think). you can count arts units towards it

That's not new. You've always been able to cross-list international-type arts units (assorted JCTC, ARIS, ASNS, and probably from next year AMST) towards the GOVT major.

Does IntSt and EcSocSci moving to Arts then confirm that GOVT and ECOP will be moving too? It doesn't make much sense for IntSt to be in Arts if all its core units are in Economics and Business.

it doesn't confirm both moving, as that degree is split b/w ECOP and GOVT, and even at the moment, you can major in government if you're studying arts.

looking at the careers center tatistics all arts grads mostly go on to become baristas and retail work

but that one medicine graduate who goes on the become a retail assistant at myer doesnt make much sense either

It's exactly the same degree. It's just being administered by a different faculty.

That's stupid- what if you're doing an economics major and industrial relations and human resource management as part of B.Economic and Social Sciences ? Your degree is arts even though everything you're studying is from E+B ?

We're not sure if B Economic & Social Sciences will be gone. All we know is that B Arts (Economic and Social Sciences) is coming next year.

If economic & social sciences is cancelled, I assume people who've started it complete it as per the current resolutions, and the B Arts (E&SS) degree will be significantly changed, whereby you would have to complete an Arts major + a minor in the e&b faculty (or something of that nature)
