Someone else asked about this course in the Arts/COFA section a while ago but nobody answered, so I'm hoping that since the general section of UNSW gets more views we can get a reply from someone doing the course.

So to condense what was previously asked: What is the course like? Is it good for someone wanting to get into the production and delevopment side of film and tv?Is it good for someone who wants to use it as a platform to get into advertising? How are internships and the like for the course?

Thanks for any replies :)

It looks like it from what I've read. There seems to be quite a bit of theory though (depending on what electives you choose I guess). I'm taking Digital Media at COFA where most/all the subjects each semester are practical (making videos/sound). Difference with my course is that it's more general, deals stuff like animation, video, photography, etc. I guess Media (screen and sound) is good if you want to go to the TV/film production side, just make sure you choose the right electives. Stuff like SOMA3603 (digital video 2) andhttp://www.handbook.unsw.edu.au/undergraduate/courses/2010/MDIA2005.html MDIA2005 (advertising) are what you should choose.http://www.handbook.unsw.edu.au/undergraduate/courses/2010/SOMA3603.html
