i know what battered womans syndrome is...
but does anyone know the ' legal issues and remedies which affect BWS???

the fact that its a crime is a remedy isn't it...also to prevent it, there's AVO's u can apply for

Yeah well thats all the remedies, because technically, BWS isnt in our legal system, but its recognised by the courts...mmmm

Its actually an informal defence. It has been accepted in a couple of noteworthy cases, a woman has either maliciously wounded or killed her husband has has used the fact that she was a victim of domestic violence as a defence.

Its also been recognised by the case of R v McEwen, 1996 as a valid defence for murder in same-sex relationships
...in case you can stick that in somewhere

at the moment battered woman syndfrome is not recognised formally in Nsw courts... does anyone have info on R v Skaff gang rape case???? :chainsaw:
