Belonging and Identity?? (1 Viewer)

My essay explores the notion of belonging in the first two paras, and 'not belonging' in the last two paras. I don't really refer to identity much, but I do say that my interactions with others and the world are the essence of belonging....But how to relate to identity?? Is it simply a matter of saying that when we belong in these relationships, we are able to enrich our identity??

Pretty much, perhaps you can link in the concept of self-actualization in Maslows hierachy, in that: as we have reached self-actualisation (through our connections to others and the larger world) we have defined our place in the word (i.e. established a sense of being/identity).

Maybe you could link your topics to identity, like saying belonging to ____ or ____ affects a persons identity in some way?

In my interpretation, you can't have any sense of belonging without a sense of identity and visa versa. Belonging an identity are so clesely linked, I always refer to it just so I'm not saying belonging 20 times an essay.
