For me right now:
-emotional/talks from experience: Eminem
-educated rap/subliminal message: Lupe Fiasco

Overall: I'd say Eminem is right up there and Lupe Fiasco not far behind.

Voted for Tupac Shakur, had a fantastic message and the way he delivered it was so potent. Easily the best that ever did it.

Best rapper alive today is probably Joe Budden. I can relate so closely to so many of his songs and he's a very informed person. Others include the rest of Slaughterhouse (Crooked I, Royce, Joell Ortiz), KRS One, Mos Def, Saigon, Immortal Technique, Beast 1333 (some songs).
