when writing a bibliography, what is the correct format to use? i know there is an example in one of the Look It Up english books but i cant find mine.

in particular, i need to know how to write them for books and websites, not like journals or anything..

if anyone knows please tell me!! thanks :)

every school is different, but most high schools and universities use the Harvard system of referencing.

for websites this involves (in this format):

website title, website address, date accessed

note also that all entries in your bibliography are sorted alphabetically, and all of the subfields for each entry are separated by a comma.

hmm...
we learnt it as..
books:
author's surname and initial, title of the book, publisher, place of publication and the year of publication.

for newspaper it is:
author's surname and initial, title of the article, name of the periodical, volume, year and pages

and for websites its practically the one mentioned by smegthehead above!

hope that helps =]
