Binomial prrofs, their horrible..........i just cant do them
Is there any website that explains/gives more examples then a text book because the Cambridge book doesnt really give many examples at all

Nope
If those books are good at explaining them let me know....

I can get the proofs just by guessing appropriate substitutions and maybe integrating/differentiating but sometimes you have got to simplify them and thats when it gets very difficult

the Excel one gives you fully worked solutions for each question but there's not many. fitzpatrick, from memory, wasn't too helpful.

the best book in my opinion for binomial therom is Maths In Focus 3U book2 by Margaret Grove, thats the text book our school provides us
i use excel, fitzpatrick, understanding yr12 math and Get smart
and the Grove one is the clearest

they give u full proofs for pascals, the general binomial theorm, the factorial notation thing, and the relationship between coefficients (Tk+1 / Tk etc), if thats what ur after

thats actually proof by mathematical induction, not integration

but the algebraic manipulation of those are hard sometimes

no its not
its proof by binomials
i suppose you could do it by induction but the question wasnt testing induction

if ur finding something difficult and cant do it, the first thing u wouldnt do is to go to fitzpatrick.... its realli hard... the examples are kinda ok but the questions are realli hard... my friend she said that if u can do ALL the questions out of fitz ur pretty well prepared for the hsc

i was talking about Bon's comment, thats induction
the question in the 97 paper yes is binomial
in my past paper book, theres some crazy graphical solution to that question

Grove doesnt have full proofs of Tk+1 / Tk and that jazz! It just gives you the formulas - and thats why rox doesnt have a clue

You just look at their given answer.
If it's got n+1 as a power, then integrate. If it's n-1, then differentiate.

WHAT THE FUCK????
We havnt even done this shit yet..... i think ill drop 3u now!

I cant even int or dif binomial, what chance do i have of proving them using induction????

Can ppl help us with dif and int firstly???

IE any worked solutions that they can scan for us or post on this site

my email is

p00_p00@hotmail.com

plz help a tortured soul!

dood u cant integrate or differentiate?!

btw, if u skool hasn't done it, they'll cut it out from the test. So im guessing u havent done nCr etc?

its really obscure (dif and int of binomials)
its used to prove an indentity usually
like if u had (1+x)^n
the derivative would be n(1+x)^n-1

but look in Excel, they have an example
and im sure Fitzy would too

Dood, all u need to do is expand nCr
diff or int both sides - look at answer. If its got power of n-1, then diff. If n+1, then int.

Once u've done that. Look at anser again let x=sumfin that will give u the answer.

If u get sumfin with Sigma, change that into nCr form.

Get it now?
