For those who are coming to Bruce this year...

O-Week 2008 – “Not Another Teen O-Week”

Saturday

All day: Reception in Dining Hall
12pm – parents and new residents invited to lunch in the dining hall
Afternoon: Casual sports in South Quad – soccer etc.
5pm Parents and ressies invited to dinner in dining hall
Evening: Floor meetings – assign each CRC member to a floor
Buttery Night – games in the buttery? Twister, lots of silly games to help people relax. “speed dating” etc.


Sunday

Morning: Presentation to first years about Bruce Hall/ANU in Dining Hall.
Afternoon: Campus Tours (SRS)

Evening: First Year “Cruise” at Teatro Vivaldi (TBC)
Later Year Wine and Cheese in SCR/BN Room



Monday 18th February
Morning:
Women
9.00 am – 10.30 am Brent Sanders Talk (John XXIII College)
11.15 am – 12. 00 pm ‘Ten Things I Hate About You’ (Bruce Hall JCR)

Men
10.00 am – 10.45 am ‘Ten Things I Hate About You’ (Bruce Hall JCR)
11.00 am – 12.30 pm Brent Sanders Talk (John XXIII College)
Afternoon:
2.00 pm – 5.00 pm Intro to learning communities, beginning in the Dining Hall
Evening: Band in the Quad

Tuesday

Morning: Tie-dying of togas in South Quad, maybe other activities as well?
Midday: Quad Carnival –‘Spring Break’, no jumping castle this year!
Afternoon: 4.30 Garden Party in North Quad with Jazz band, buttery set up.

Evening: Later Year Cruise
HolyGrail/some other venue???


Wednesday

Morning: Enrolment

Afternoon:
Evening: Pre Toga Party in North Quad – teach people how to tie togas
Then to Burgmann Toga
Movie Night – Dendy then coffee and cake


Thursday
Morning: Recovery BBQ after Toga?
Afternoon: Quiet day – maybe some quad games and a meeting about IB
Introduction to the International Learning Community Event (with a better name!)

Evening: Stroll/Jog around lake early evening
A non-drinking night: Teen movie night with lots of junk food prob. in JCR or Pack quad
Trip to Turner Bowls Trivia


Friday
Morning: Lawn bowls at Turner/Lunch at All Bar Nun
Trip to NMA
Afternoon: ANU Green/Green Shield information session
Evening: Chinese New Year Dinner – in Dining Hall then moving to Buttery.

Saturday

Morning: Trip to the coast or Casurina Sands – will hire coach, ask people to contribute $10 each.
Afternoon: Trip to national gallery/library

Jumping castle? A JUMPING CASTLE? Is that a joke or did you guys actually have jumping castles? Isn't that a little... Umm... preschooler? lol.

Okay, another question: I'm planning on bringing up my computer with a TV card, will I need my own antenna, or is there a place I can plug a cord thing into the wall to get a picture?

Here's a copy of the final O-week guide. A tropfest trip, LAN party and a few other things have been added

@ Evilo: I had to listen to him at NAAUC too.
