Yes, Kentsfield is pretty much two Conroes slapped together - hence not being a native quad-core. But the fact remains that Intel's engineers has done a pretty good job with the architecture. Performance scales pretty well to 4 cores (depending on application).

Apparently, the E6850 is coming out at a similar price to the current E6600 (just $50 more) as they're competing with the AMD line of similar chips..

...which is good for me ;p
