What technique is in this line from Frankenstein, it's at the end where he dies.

'he sunk into silence'

Would 'sunk' be something like a metaphorical verb?

To be fair I don't do Frankenstein so I don't know any context behind the quote lol.
It's a good enough guess, but I wouldn't use it in the exam. To be fair, off the top of my head, I don't have a good answer to what it is either.

Hey guys, didn't feel the need in starting a new thread. What technique is in this (if any): "riding the motorbike that summer...crystallised in me a sense of freedom...which I always associate with that time in the country."

The "..." are because I skipped words in the sentance btw.
