I find complex numbers an easy chapter except i always get stuck on the vector questions they ask in the later part of complex number questions in exams. Does anyone have any really good tips and ways to tackle these problems. Thanks in advance!!!

Hi andrew, I know what you mean I think they call it applications of complex numbers.

You will be given a diagram and you will work from the diagram. The main things to remember are that a rotation of 90 is just times the complex number by i ( anti-clockwise) or 90 degree rotation clock wise its just divide by i...

also know what happens when you add or subtract complex numbers also know as addition of vectors or difference of vectors.

keep in my the enlargments etc

also when you multiple by cis @ where @>0 it means its a rotation of @ anti-clockwise

when multiple by cis(-@) it rotation of @ anti clock wise.

I think this is all ( not sure so please add more ) also check out the complex numbers tips page on this forum.

dont be scared of these applications they tend to be easy ( most of the time)
