You know how it states in the syllabus, "turning points in the battles of Midway, Coral Sea, Guadacanal, Guinea":shy: what does it mean? :eek: anyone?:confused:

whether they were turning points or just significant battles and how these battles effected the outcome of the war.

eg for the 2nd part: Midway showed the usefulness of ship-mounted radar in battle, as the Americans were able to find the Imperial Navy much quicker because of it.

the 'end' of the short-lived Japanese expansion during the Pacific. Afterwards most battles involved Allied aggression in reclaiming Japanese-occupied islands.

I believe Midway, Guadalcanal and the New Guinea (Kokoda, Milne Bay) campaigns were all victories, with Coral Sea a "tactical stalemate but a strategic victory" for the Allies.
