Hi I am currently in year 12 and hoping to get into diagnostic radiography in usyd next year. I think it is an awesome course but I am little confused. So if you do undergraduate diagnostic radiography, all the students learn the same thing or are you given like options to choose? For example, say you do chemical engineering, you pick your major from many branches right?(or am I wrong) is that same for this or not? After you graduate and finish your one year training(there is a special name I forgot), are you only qualified to take xrays? I want to specialise in ultrasound and become sonographer, how can I do this? Do I have to do master or honours? Thanks alot!

You would have to complete diagnostic radiography then apply for a Diploma for sonography through TAFE. I am not sure if only TAFE offers the diploma though...

Hi thank you for your reply^^
I am not 100% sure but I have never heard the information where you have to go to tafe for this.
I heard some info from my friends friend which isnt so accurate but seems like she did masters.
I have also looked into usyd and there were so many categories including diploma, master, honours etc of medical sonography which I found it confusing. Maybe there is another pathway via tafe but I personally would prefer uni^^.
Are you a sonographer by any chance?
